Its oversized panels give a feature wall a nearly seamless, sculpted look with very few grout joints, which is what sets it apart from the narrower Tactis 4x16 accent piece. The textured face catches side light and casts soft shadows across living-room walls, headboard walls and fireplace surrounds. It comes in three warm neutrals, Woven Light, Threaded Beige and Etched Taupe, with High (V3) shade variation.

Best for: Living-room feature walls, fireplace surrounds, bedroom headboard walls, entry walls and bathroom vanity walls.

Colors

Woven Light 00110: a pale linen tone whose ridged texture resembles a tightly woven textile.

Threaded Beige 00200: a sandy beige with fine linear relief that adds warmth to large walls.

Etched Taupe 00700: a deeper taupe where the 3D lines show more shadow and depth.

Why Choose Tactis 18x48

Large 17.66" x 47.19" panels for a near-continuous feature wall

Dimensional, linear surface that plays with light and shadow

Matte finish for a soft, natural look

Water absorption of 0.50% or less

17.32 sq ft per box

High (V3) variation for natural, textile-like movement

Where to Install

Tactis 18x48 is classified by Shaw as an accent tile, so use it only on walls: fireplace surrounds, TV walls, headboard walls, entryways and bathroom vanity or shower feature walls. It is not intended for floors. Tactis 18x48 is not frost rated by Shaw, so keep it to interior spaces. At just over half an inch thick and nearly four feet long, each panel is heavy enough that a large-format mortar, a flat substrate and two installers are recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Tactis 18x48 be used on a fireplace surround? Yes. Shaw Tactis 18x48 is an accent wall tile, and its large textured panels are well suited to fireplace surrounds and chimney breasts; follow the fireplace manufacturer's clearance requirements and use a heat-appropriate setting material.

Is Tactis 18x48 hard to install? Shaw Tactis 18x48 needs more care than small tile because each panel is about 17.7" x 47.2" and 0.52" thick. Use a large-format tile mortar with full back-buttering, a leveling system and a very flat wall, and consider a professional installer.

What is the difference between Tactis 18x48 and Tactis 4x16? Tactis 18x48 covers a wall with big, near-seamless textured panels in three colors, while the Tactis 4x16 is a smaller ribbed accent piece in four colors that Shaw rates frost resistant.
