COREtec Originals Enhanced Ferndown Oak 7"x60"

COREtec Originals Enhanced Ferndown Oak — 7" x 60" Light Greige Waterproof Plank

Ferndown Oak (VV855-05066) is a light, soft greige oak plank from COREtec Originals Enhanced, made with a waterproof foamed WPC core, an attached 3 mm cork underlayment and a 12 mm overall profile. The 7" x 60" boards give a calm, airy look that suits Scandinavian, coastal and modern farmhouse rooms. Its 20 mil wear layer is topped with UV acrylic for scuff and stain resistance.

Best for: Bedrooms, nurseries, home offices and bright living spaces where you want a pale, neutral floor that keeps the room feeling open.

The Look

Think of a light greige oak with gentle grain movement: soft enough to sit quietly under furniture, but with enough grain to read as real wood. Painted bevels on every edge give each plank a clean outline so the pale surface never looks flat.

Why Choose COREtec Originals Enhanced Ferndown Oak?

• Soft greige tone that bridges warm and cool décor
• Gentle, low-contrast grain for a calm, uncluttered room
• 12 mm thickness with a 3 mm cork layer for comfort and sound control
• Rated for installation on, above or below grade, including basements
• GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions

Installation

Ferndown Oak can float over a flat subfloor or be glued down. No acclimation period is required according to COREtec. In unheated three-season rooms, the floating method is allowed between 32°F and 100°F; standard installs should happen between 55°F and 85°F. A 6 mil poly vapor retarder is optional over concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What color is Ferndown Oak? It is a light, soft greige oak, which is a blend of beige and gray. It pairs easily with both white trim and warmer wood furniture.

Does Ferndown Oak need underlayment? No separate pad is needed. A 3 mm cork underlayment is already bonded to every plank to soften footfall and reduce sound.

Is Ferndown Oak good for a basement? Yes. It is approved for below-grade installation and the core is 100% waterproof. Check concrete moisture first; the warranty excludes damage from subfloor moisture emissions, and COREtec notes excess moisture can promote mold or mildew.

Is it safe with dogs and cats? The COREtec warranty states the floor will resist staining from domestic cat or dog accidents. That coverage is about stains; it does not promise the surface is scratch-proof, so keep nails trimmed and use felt pads on furniture.

How is the 7" x 60" plank different from the 7" x 48" Originals Enhanced? The 7" x 60" boards are longer and thicker: 12 mm with 3 mm cork, compared with 8 mm and 1.5 mm cork on the 7" x 48" style. Both share the enhanced painted bevel and a 20 mil wear layer.
