Tesoro Woods Chateau French Oak 7-1/2"

Tesoro Woods Chateau is a wide-plank collection of engineered European French oak and walnut, made for homeowners who want the character of an Old World floor. Each 7-1/2" plank has a thick 4mm sawn wear layer on a solid cross-slat core in a stable 3-layer format, finished in a low-sheen UV matte. There are 11 colors, from whitewashed Comtal and clean, Select-grade Chantilly to smoky Kenilworth, deep smoked-brown Vigny, and rich Walnut Leeds. Most colors are Rustic grade, with knots, filled and unfilled cracks, and contrasting heartwood and sapwood.

Is Chateau solid or engineered hardwood? Engineered. Each plank has a 4mm sawn layer of real French oak or walnut bonded to a solid cross-slat core in a 3-layer format. That construction is more dimensionally stable than solid hardwood, so Chateau can go above or below grade.

What does "Rustic grade" mean? Rustic grade shows the full natural character of the wood: knots, filled and unfilled cracks, color variation, and contrasting heartwood and sapwood. Rochester and Saumur are Light Rustic, with a slightly calmer look. Chantilly is Select, a very clean grade with minimal knots.

How is Chateau installed? It can be glued down, nailed down, or floated, and it is rated for above- and below-grade installation. Always follow Tesoro Woods' installation guidelines for subfloor moisture and prep.

How much flooring is in a carton? Each carton covers 25.85 sq ft.

Why do some colors cost more? Chantilly (Select grade) and Walnut Leeds (a premium species) are priced higher. Rochester and Saumur are priced slightly above the core colors.
