Is Leeds real walnut? Yes. Leeds has a 4mm sawn walnut wear layer. It is real walnut, not stained oak.

How is Leeds different from the oak colors? Walnut has a naturally rich, dark chocolate color and smoother, more flowing grain. Leeds also has a smooth surface instead of the light wire brushing on the oak colors. Walnut is softer than oak (Janka 1010 vs. 1360), so it shows dents a bit more readily.

Why does Leeds cost more? Walnut is a premium species and costs more than oak, which is reflected in its price.
