Flotex Code Commercial Textile Sheet Flooring by Forbo

Flotex Code is one of the two designs in Flotex Advance. Its abstract pattern takes its cue from the typewriter era: letters and characters are layered over one another to build an all-over texture. Forbo describes the Advance pile as about 80 million straight nylon 6.6 fibers per square meter on a waterproof backing.

Flotex is Forbo's flocked textile floor: a dense pile of upright nylon 6.6 fibers bonded to a waterproof, closed-cell vinyl cushion backing. It gives the warmth, comfort and sound control of a textile, but because the fibers stand straight and the backing is impervious, spills stay on the surface and the floor can be cleaned much like a hard floor, including wet cleaning. Forbo also notes that the pile traps fine dust and allergens until it is vacuumed, and Flotex carries the Allergy UK Seal of Approval.

How Flotex Sheet Is Sold

Flotex Advance sheet is 0.15" thick, in rolls about 79" (2 m) wide x 82 ft (25 m) long, which is shorter than other Flotex sheet rolls. It is cut to the length your project needs and quoted by the square yard. The factory edge is not seam quality, so allow at least 1" at each seam for trimming. Give us your room dimensions and we will help you plan roll cuts and quantities.

Because sheet is cut to your order, cut sheet goods are not returnable. Please confirm colors with samples and measurements with your installer before ordering.

Installation and Supplies

Flotex sheet is a glue-down floor installed by a flooring professional following Forbo's Installing Flotex Sheet Flooring guide. Installation supplies are sold only with a Flotex flooring order and are included in your quote.

• Adhesive: Forbo Sustain 1195, Forbo FST 1299 or Forbo 660, as listed for Flotex sheet on Forbo's US website. FST 1299 is not applicable to all installations; for example, Forbo's FST 1299 data sheet says it is not intended for slabs without a moisture vapor retarder. Your installer selects the adhesive based on the subfloor and job conditions.
• Seams: Net-fit seams rolled with a steel seam roller, with cross seams cut using the Forbo Seam & Strip Cutter, per Forbo's Flotex sheet installation guide
• Care: Forbo Neutral pH Cleaner for routine and interim cleaning, and the Forbo Flotex Spot Eraser for spot cleaning, as listed on Forbo's US Flotex floor care page and in Caring for Flotex

Wait at least five days after installation before the first wet cleaning.

What adhesive is used for Flotex sheet? Forbo's US website lists Forbo Sustain 1195, FST 1299 or 660 for Flotex sheet. FST 1299 is not applicable to all installations, so your installer chooses based on the job. Adhesive is sold only with a flooring order and included in your quote.

Code and Latitude share many neutral color names (Nickel, Ash, Grey, Gull, Linen, Nimbus, Sand and Tempest), which makes it easy to run the two Advance designs side by side, for example Code in open areas and Latitude in corridors.
