Marmoleum Striato Commercial Linoleum Sheet Flooring by Forbo

Marmoleum Striato is Forbo's linear linoleum sheet. Instead of a marble, each color is built from fine, parallel streaks that run the length of the roll, giving the floor a subtle grain that reads a little like brushed wood or woven fabric. Because the lines have a direction, Striato can be laid to lead the eye down a corridor or across an open room. Like every Marmoleum sheet, it is made mostly from natural, renewable raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, jute and limestone, and its double UV-cured Topshield finish means it is ready for traffic right after installation and easy to keep clean.

Best for: Corridors and hallways, schools and universities, healthcare and senior living, offices, retail and any space where a directional, low-emission floor helps guide people through the room.

Colors

Marmoleum Striato comes in 16 colors, from pale, chalky neutrals to deep stone greys and a few warm accents:

  • Whites and light neutrals: Ivory Shades 5252, Sandy Chalk 5257, Rocky Ice 5232, Withered Prairie 5217
  • Greys and charcoals: Compressed Time 5225, Urban Silver 5248, Stonehenge 5249, Cliffs of Moher 5231, Black Glacier 5251

How Sheet Linoleum Is Sold

Marmoleum Striato is a 2.5 mm (1/10") sheet in rolls about 79" (2 m) wide and up to 105 ft long. It is cut to the length your project needs and quoted by the square yard. The factory edge is not seam quality, so installers trim at least 1" from each edge at seams. Give us your room dimensions and we will help you plan roll cuts and quantities.

Because sheet is cut to your order, cut sheet goods are not returnable. Please confirm colors with samples and measurements with your installer before ordering.

Installation and Supplies

Marmoleum sheet is a glue-down floor installed by a flooring professional, with seams heat-welded. Installation supplies are sold only with a Marmoleum flooring order and are included in your quote.

  • Adhesive: Forbo Sustain 1195, Sustain 100 or Forbo 660, as listed in Forbo's Marmoleum sheet installation guide. Your installer selects the adhesive based on the subfloor and job conditions.
  • Seams: Marmoweld color-matched welding rod
  • Care: Forbo Neutral pH Cleaner for routine maintenance

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Marmoleum and vinyl? Marmoleum is linoleum, made mainly from linseed oil, wood flour, jute and limestone. Vinyl is a PVC plastic. Marmoleum is PVC-free and 100% USDA Certified BioBased.

What is the difference between Marmoleum Striato and Marmoleum Real? Both are 2.5 mm Marmoleum sheet. Real has the classic marbled pattern that flows in all directions, while Striato has fine straight lines that run one way, so it gives a more linear, grain-like look.

How is Marmoleum sheet priced? Sheet linoleum is cut to length and quoted by the square yard. Call 1-888-976-8166 with your square footage for a project quote. The minimum order is 250 sq ft.

Can I return Marmoleum sheet? No. Sheet is cut to the length you order, so cut sheet goods are not returnable. Order free samples first to confirm your colors.

Is Marmoleum Striato good for schools and healthcare? Yes. It is made for heavy commercial traffic, has a Class 1 fire rating, and its Topshield finish is easy to clean. Its linear pattern also works well for directing traffic in long corridors.

Can I order samples? Yes. Request free samples to see the colors in person before you order.

Specifier Tips

Marmoleum Striato shares its thickness and roll width with Real, Fresco, Vivace and the solid Marmoleum collections, so it can be combined with them in borders and inlays. Running the lines along the length of a corridor makes the space feel longer and helps guide foot traffic; turning the sheet across a room gives a calmer, wider look. Pair a mid-tone such as Urban Silver or Silt Stone in the field with an accent like Blue Basalt or Red Horse to mark entrances or zones.
