Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve LL 6x48 Wood-Look Loose Lay Luxury Vinyl Plank

Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve LL (style #5M505) is a 6" x 48" loose lay luxury vinyl plank with a natural wood look, built as a heavy commercial luxury vinyl tile and finished with ExoGuard®. It carries the same 13-color wood palette as the glue-down Alba Reserve 8, 12 and 20 planks, but the planks are held in place by their weight and friction instead of a full bed of adhesive. That makes it the Alba Reserve version to pick when a floor has to go down fast, stay serviceable, or come up again for access or a future change.

Best for: Tenant fit-outs on short schedules, leased offices, retail stores that refresh often, multifamily clubrooms and leasing offices, and areas over access flooring.

Colors

  • Shadow 00520: a mid-tone greige wood with a soft, warm gray cast.
  • Texas Bur 00825: a reddish medium-dark brown, one of the warmest choices in the range.
  • Sand Dune 01169: pale sandy beige and the lightest plank in the line.
  • Ohlone Oak 02027: golden mid-brown oak with an amber leaning.
  • Willow Oak 02028: a softened taupe oak that keeps rooms calm.
  • South Bay 02029: light driftwood beige, close in depth to Sand Dune but grayer.
  • Blue Ridge 05100: despite its name, a muted gray-brown rather than a blue.
  • Honeycomb 06040: an amber honey tone that warms cool lighting.
  • Aged Barrel Oak 07099: a dark, smoky brown with a weathered feel.
  • Seneca Oak 07100: deep cocoa brown, almost as dark as Aged Barrel Oak.
  • Walnut Hill 07192: a khaki-leaning mid brown that reads relaxed.
  • Mesa Oak 07194: light tan oak with a sunny quality.
  • Native Pecan 07195: a nutty medium-dark brown with good soil-hiding depth.

The range climbs from pale beiges through tans and golden oaks to two near-espresso browns. Ask for free samples before you commit to a shade.

Why Choose Alba Reserve LL 6x48

  • Loose lay construction holds by weight and friction, so installation moves quickly
  • Individual planks lift out for replacement or access
  • Same 13 wood colors as the Alba Reserve glue-down and SPC planks
  • ExoGuard® finish on a heavy commercial luxury vinyl build
  • Classic 6" x 48" plank proportion that suits most room sizes

Installation Methods

Alba Reserve LL is approved for loose lay installation. In a loose lay floor the planks sit flat on a prepared subfloor and are kept from moving by their own mass and the friction between pieces, rather than being bonded edge to edge; in practice, installers often use a tackifier or perimeter adhesive at doorways and edges when the manufacturer's guidance calls for it. That approach shortens downtime, cuts down on adhesive work, and lets a facility pull planks to reach cabling or replace damage. Subfloor flatness, moisture testing and acclimation should follow the requirements on the Alba Reserve LL spec sheet and Shaw's installation instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does LL mean in Alba Reserve LL? LL stands for loose lay. Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve LL is the loose lay version of the Alba Reserve wood-look vinyl, so the planks are not fully glued to the subfloor.

How is Alba Reserve LL different from Alba Reserve 12? Both share the same 13 wood colors, but Alba Reserve 12 is a 7x48 direct glue plank, while Alba Reserve LL is a 6x48 loose lay plank designed for quicker installs and easier plank replacement.

Can Alba Reserve LL go over raised access flooring? Loose lay vinyl such as Alba Reserve LL is a common choice where panels underneath must be reached, because planks can be lifted without scraping adhesive. Confirm the panel system and any tackifier with Shaw's installation instructions first.

Which Alba Reserve LL color hides dirt best? Mid-to-dark, varied wood tones like Native Pecan, Walnut Hill and Seneca Oak disguise everyday grit better than the pale Sand Dune or South Bay planks.

Is Alba Reserve LL a good fit for retail? Yes. Alba Reserve LL gives a store a warm wood look on a heavy commercial vinyl with an ExoGuard® finish, and its loose lay planks suit stores that remodel or reset fixtures often.

Specifier Tips

If a project mixes permanent and temporary areas, specify glue-down Alba Reserve in the permanent zones and Alba Reserve LL in the spaces likely to be reconfigured; with matching color names, a Mesa Oak or Willow Oak floor can carry across both. Keep Seneca Oak or Aged Barrel Oak for retail sales floors with heavy foot traffic, and choose Sand Dune to brighten windowless back offices. Where a loose lay plank meets carpet tile, use a transition strip rated for rolling carts.
