Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve SPC 7x48 Wood-Look Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl Plank

Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve SPC 3.5 (style #5M405) is a 7" x 48" (6.93" x 48.03" actual) stone polymer composite rigid core commercial luxury vinyl plank with a realistic wood look and an ExoGuard+® finish. It brings the Alba Reserve palette to a rigid SPC construction that can either float over the subfloor or be fully glued down. The rigid core helps bridge minor subfloor imperfections better than a thin flexible plank, and a floating install lets an occupied office, store or apartment be finished without waiting on adhesive. It is the Alba Reserve choice when speed and installation flexibility matter most.

Best for: Occupied office renovations, multifamily unit turns, hotel guest rooms, small retail and franchise build-outs, and senior living apartments.

Colors

  • Shadow 00520: a gentle gray-washed oak, slightly cooler in this version.
  • Texas Bur 00825: spiced reddish brown with a rustic warmth.
  • Sand Dune 01169: pale wheat-beige for compact rooms.
  • Ohlone Oak 02027: honey-tan oak with a familiar hardwood character.
  • Willow Oak 02028: taupe-beige wood with low contrast.
  • South Bay 02029: a light, airy sandy driftwood.
  • Blue Ridge 05100: a medium warm gray-brown for modern units.
  • Honeycomb 06040: bright amber-gold, the most golden choice.
  • Aged Barrel Oak 07099: a deep brown with a charcoal shadow.
  • Seneca Oak 07100: dark mocha oak, the twin in depth to Aged Barrel Oak.
  • Walnut Hill 07192: a soft medium brown with neutral undertones.
  • Mesa Oak 07194: light-to-mid tan with a sandy warmth.
  • Native Pecan 07195: cocoa-tinged pecan in a medium-dark depth.

Because the same 13 color names run through the glue-down and loose lay Alba Reserve products, an SPC unit can match a glued corridor outside it. Get free samples to confirm the match.

Installation Methods

Shaw approves two methods for Alba Reserve SPC: floating and direct glue. A floating installation means the planks connect to one another and rest on the subfloor without adhesive, so the room can be walked on right away and the floor can expand and contract as one piece; leave the expansion space at walls specified by the manufacturer. Direct glue bonds the rigid plank to the subfloor, the better option for large open areas, rooms with heavy rolling loads, or spaces with strong sun through glass. Subfloor flatness and moisture testing should meet the requirements on the Alba Reserve SPC spec sheet and Shaw's installation guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does SPC mean in Alba Reserve SPC? SPC stands for stone polymer composite. In Alba Reserve SPC 3.5, it describes the rigid core that gives the plank its stiffness, compared with the flexible glue-down Alba Reserve planks.

Can Alba Reserve SPC be glued down? Yes. Philadelphia Commercial Alba Reserve SPC is approved for both floating and direct glue installation.

Is rigid core vinyl a good choice for apartment turnovers? A floating rigid core plank like Alba Reserve SPC can be installed without adhesive cure time, which helps property managers return a unit to the market sooner.

Should I choose Alba Reserve SPC or Alba Reserve 12? Pick Alba Reserve SPC when you want a rigid plank that can float, and Alba Reserve 12 when you want a flexible plank that is always glued. Both are 7x48 with the same 13 colors.

Is Alba Reserve SPC suitable for hotel rooms? Alba Reserve SPC suits hotel guest rooms: it can float for a fast room refresh, has an ExoGuard+® finish for daily cleaning, and offers warm wood colors that work with most furniture packages.

Specifier Tips

For multifamily, float Alba Reserve SPC inside the units and glue Alba Reserve 20 or 12 in the corridors in the same color, such as Willow Oak or Walnut Hill, so the floor looks continuous from hall to living room. Use T-moldings at doorways if the floating floor needs a break, and keep Sand Dune or South Bay for small, north-facing units. In hotel rooms, Native Pecan pairs well with carpet in the sleeping area.
