Philadelphia Commercial Dateline Today 12 ft Value-Minded Commercial Broadloom Carpet

Philadelphia Commercial Dateline Today (style #54823) is a value-minded commercial broadloom carpet, sold in 12 ft rolls, built around one of the broadest working palettes in the line: 24 colors that move from light taupes through slate blues, sage grays and charcoals to brick red and burgundy. Shaw makes Dateline Today in the USA with 100% Eco Solution Q nylon. Its strength is coverage: a property manager can carry one dependable style through offices, classrooms, leasing areas and apartment corridors and still find a color for each room, including a few deeper accent options.

Best for: Multifamily corridors and leasing offices, schools and administration buildings, general office space, medical office waiting rooms and churches looking for an economical broadloom with lots of color choice.

Installation

Dateline Today is sold in 12 ft widths. For apartment corridors, run each roll lengthwise so the hall is covered in as few drops as possible, and keep any cross seams away from elevator lobbies and unit doors. In classrooms, plan seams along the long wall rather than through the center of the room. Rolls should be laid in one direction from matching dye lots. The Dateline Today spec sheet and Shaw's installation guidance list the approved installation method and adhesive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dateline Today a good carpet for apartment corridors? Dateline Today is a practical fit for multifamily corridors: it is an economical 12 ft broadloom, made in the USA, and its 24 colors include darker browns and charcoals that hide soil in shared hallways.

How many colors does Dateline Today offer? Dateline Today comes in 24 colors, spanning taupes, blues, greens, grays, browns and two red tones, so one style can cover many rooms in a building.

What is Dateline Today made of? Dateline Today uses 100% Eco Solution Q nylon fiber and is produced in the USA by Philadelphia Commercial, a Shaw Industries brand.

Should a school choose broadloom like Dateline Today or carpet tile? Broadloom such as Dateline Today generally covers a classroom with fewer joints and a continuous look. Carpet tile is easier to replace in spots, so many schools use broadloom in offices and libraries and tile in heavy-wear classrooms.

What is the minimum order for Dateline Today? Dateline Today orders start at 250 sq. ft., and pricing is given by quote. Reach GreenFlooringSupply.com at 1-888-976-8166, and request free samples of up to a few shades to compare.

Specifier Tips

In an apartment building, put Nightly 00590 or Anchors 00760 in corridors and stair landings, then use the lighter News 00205 or Spotlights 00730 in the leasing office so it feels open. Schools can match district colors with Headlines 00405 or Just In 00860 in administration areas. If you need two shades side by side, pair colors from the same family number range, such as Coverage 00503 with Network 00505, for a subtle step in depth.
