Philadelphia Commercial Fortitude 7x48 Floating Wood-Look Commercial Luxury Vinyl Plank

Philadelphia Commercial Fortitude (style #5601V) is a wood-look commercial luxury vinyl plank measuring 7" x 48" that floats rather than glues down, protected by Shaw's ExoGuard finish. Skipping full-spread adhesive means Fortitude can go in quickly with less downtime, which helps in occupied offices and stores. Its seventeen colors cover a wide wood range, from pale Spalted Maple and Fresh Driftwood through tawny and amber oaks to Cinnamon Walnut and Modern Classic. The same color numbers appear in Frontier Plus, a rigid core plank.

Best for: Office renovations, retail fit-outs, multifamily common areas and leasing offices, hotel guest floors and small medical offices.

Colors

  • Cinnamon Wlanut 00150: a mid-depth walnut brown with a muted, earthy tone.
  • Almond Oak 00154: a toasted oak with balanced, medium warmth.
  • Tawny Oak 00203: a golden-brown oak that leans orange in warm light.
  • Smoky Oak 00556: a grayed oak brown with a smoky softness.
  • Oyster Oak 00591: a gray-brown oak, a twin to Smoky Oak with a touch more cool.
  • Amber Oak 00820: a rich reddish amber, the most saturated wood tone.
  • Driftwood 01056: a weathered tan with a gentle gray wash.
  • Fresh Driftwood 01160: a pale gray-beige whitewash, the coolest light option.
  • White Sand 02013: a light sandy blonde with a golden glow.
  • Marina 02014: a light honey oak, bright and friendly.
  • Simple Wash 02083: a soft washed tan with muted grain.
  • Spalted Maple 02084: the palest blonde in the range, almost creamy.
  • Lighthouse 05091: a light greige-tan for Scandinavian-style interiors.
  • Castaway 07087: a warm light caramel with beachy character.
  • Wild Dunes 07089: a medium tan-brown, an easy middle choice.
  • Casual Comfort 07294: a mid-dark cocoa brown that hides foot traffic.
  • Modern Classic 07295: a deep warm brown with traditional character.

The 17 colors fall into light blondes and washes, mid tans and oaks, and a smaller group of deeper browns. Request free samples to narrow the choice.

Why Choose Fortitude 7x48

  • Floating installation for faster, lower-disruption projects
  • Wide 7" x 48" wood-look plank
  • ExoGuard finish for scuff and stain resistance
  • 17 wood colors from pale maple to deep walnut
  • Same color numbers as Frontier Plus SPC for mixed-construction projects

Installation Methods

Fortitude is approved for floating installation. In a floating floor the planks connect to each other and rest on the subfloor rather than being glued to it, so the floor can go in quickly and with little adhesive odor, which helps when a space must stay open. Floating floors need expansion space at walls and fixed objects, and very heavy rolling loads are better served by a glued product. Subfloor flatness, moisture testing and any underlayment requirements should follow the manufacturer's installation guide on the spec sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Fortitude vinyl plank need to be glued down? No. Philadelphia Commercial Fortitude 5601V is approved for floating installation, so the planks are not glued to the subfloor. Follow the manufacturer's guide for expansion gaps and subfloor preparation.

What is the difference between Fortitude and Frontier Plus? Fortitude and Frontier Plus share the same 17 color numbers in a 7x48 floating plank. Frontier Plus is a rigid SPC core plank; a few of its colors carry different names, such as Grand Traverse in place of Oyster Oak.

Is Fortitude good for an office renovation? Fortitude suits office renovations because a floating plank installs with less downtime than full-spread adhesive, and its wood look and ExoGuard finish keep upkeep simple in busy workspaces.

How many colors does Fortitude come in? Fortitude comes in 17 wood-look colors, from Spalted Maple and Fresh Driftwood on the light end to Amber Oak, Casual Comfort and Modern Classic on the dark end.

Specifier Tips

Pick one of the mid tones, such as Wild Dunes, Almond Oak or Lighthouse, for open office floors; they show less dust and fewer scuffs than Spalted Maple or Modern Classic. Use a darker Amber Oak in a reception area for warmth, and transition to carpet tile in workstations with a low-profile reducer. If part of the project needs a rigid core plank, Frontier Plus in the same color number keeps the look consistent.
