Philadelphia Commercial Free Time 5mm 15 ft Cushioned Landscape Artificial Turf

Philadelphia Commercial Free Time 5mm (style #54731) is a cushioned landscape artificial turf with a natural grass look, produced in extra-wide 15 ft rolls; its fiber is 100% high-UV polyethylene and it is made in America. Those 15 ft rolls are the widest among the turfs in this group, so big lawns need fewer seams. Polyethylene is the softer-handling fiber family in synthetic grass, and the 5mm cushioned construction adds more give underfoot for children, picnics and rooftop lounging. If the project wants the same look with a firmer feel, Free Time Unitary is the uncushioned option.

Best for: Play areas and school courtyards, rooftop lounges, apartment and hotel courtyards, picnic lawns and event greens.

Colors

• Field Green 00300: a rich, full-sun grass green with a faint yellow-green warmth, chosen to look like a healthy lawn.

Why Choose Free Time 5mm

• Extra-wide 15 ft rolls mean fewer seams on large lawns
• 5mm cushioned version for added comfort
• Polyethylene fiber, rated high-UV, with a soft hand
• Domestic production by Philadelphia Commercial
• Same Field Green as Free Time Unitary for mixed zones

Installation

Approved methods are not published on the Free Time 5mm style page, so use this as background only. Landscape turf in wide rolls is normally laid over a compacted, graded and drained aggregate base, with every roll facing the same way, seams glued on seaming tape and the perimeter secured. Rooftop work follows the roof system's requirements. Confirm details on the Free Time 5mm spec sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose 15 ft wide turf like Free Time 5mm? Wider rolls such as the 15 ft Free Time 5mm cover large lawns with fewer seams than 12 ft goods, which can shorten installation and gives a more natural, continuous look.

Is Free Time 5mm good for children's play areas? Free Time 5mm adds a 5mm cushion and is described for play areas. Where there are climbing structures or fall heights, a qualified safety surfacing assessment is still required.

What is the difference between Free Time 5mm and Free Time Unitary? Each is a 15 ft polyethylene turf in Field Green. Free Time 5mm includes a 5mm cushion, and Free Time Unitary has a unitary backing without one, for a firmer surface.

What fiber is Free Time 5mm turf? Free Time 5mm uses 100% high-UV polyethylene, a soft synthetic grass fiber stabilized for full sun, and Philadelphia Commercial builds it in the USA.

Specifier Tips

Lay out the lawn so 15 ft drops run in one direction, parallel to the main view, which hides seams best. Put Free Time 5mm under play and lounge zones, and consider Free Time Unitary for heavily walked paths; both share Field Green. Edge the lawn with a concrete curb or metal edging so the cushioned turf stays tight at the perimeter.
