Philadelphia Commercial Tidewater 18x36 Wave-Striated Commercial Carpet Tile

Philadelphia Commercial Tidewater (style #54849) is a wave-patterned commercial carpet tile in an 18" x 36" plank, with an undulating, striated design that captures soft, flowing water. The look is calm and earthy, and its 12 colors are named for landscapes from Glacier and Taiga to Mesa and Salt Flat. Tidewater shares those color names with Arid, also 18x36, and with the narrower 9x36 Basin, so a project can move between three related patterns. It is tufted from 100% Eco Solution Q nylon, manufactured in the USA, and approved for eight layouts including Offset.

Best for: Lobbies, wellness and healthcare waiting areas, spa and resort administrative spaces, coastal or nature-themed offices, libraries and museum support spaces.

Colors

  • Butte 00200: warm greige with an earthy, sun-dried feel.
  • Dunes 00214: light sand beige, one of the brightest options.
  • Monadnock 00220: golden khaki with a mossy warmth.
  • Taiga 00315: olive-moss green, the clearest green in the range.
  • Archipelago 00408: muted teal-gray like deep coastal water.
  • Summit 00500: pale sage-stone gray.
  • Glacier 00510: cool mid gray with a green tint.
  • Lavafield 00540: dark basalt gray.
  • Pingo 00702: soft taupe with a light, neutral warmth.
  • Salt Flat 00710: deep khaki-brown.
  • Mesa 00801: terracotta tan with a clay-red cast.
  • Miombo 00816: rusty red-brown, the warmest and boldest color.

Tidewater runs from sandy neutrals (Dunes, Pingo, Butte) through greens and blue-grays (Taiga, Glacier, Archipelago) to warm earth reds (Mesa, Miombo). Order free samples to see the striations up close.

Why Choose Tidewater 18x36

  • Undulating, striated wave design with a calm, natural feel
  • Color names shared with Arid (18x36) and Basin (9x36)
  • Eight approved layouts, including Offset, Stagger and Herringbone
  • 12 landscape-inspired colors, including greens and earth reds
  • Eco Solution Q nylon face, made in the USA

Installation Methods

Approved methods for Tidewater are Offset, Stagger, Ashlar, Brick, Herringbone, Basketweave, Half Basketweave and Boxed In. Monolithic is not on the list, so plan on an offset or patterned layout. Offset, Stagger, Ashlar and Brick shift each row so the wave striations flow in long, broken bands, which keeps the natural look; Herringbone and the basketweave options cut the waves into a more structured, woven pattern for feature areas. Follow the manufacturer installation guide for setting out and adhesive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What design inspired Tidewater carpet tile? Philadelphia Commercial Tidewater was inspired by soft, flowing waves, and its undulating, striated pattern gives an 18x36 commercial carpet tile a calm, earthy look.

Can Tidewater be installed monolithic? Monolithic is not among the approved Tidewater methods. It is approved for Offset, Stagger, Ashlar, Brick, Herringbone, Basketweave, Half Basketweave and Boxed In.

Which styles share colors with Tidewater? Tidewater uses the same 12 color names as Arid, another 18x36 plank, and Basin, a 9x36 plank, so these Philadelphia Commercial styles can be combined in matching colors.

Does Tidewater come in green or red tones? Yes. Tidewater includes an olive-moss green (Taiga), a teal-gray (Archipelago), a terracotta tan (Mesa) and a rusty red-brown (Miombo), alongside sandy neutrals and grays.

Is Tidewater suitable for a healthcare waiting room? Tidewater's calm wave pattern and nature-inspired colors suit waiting areas, and as a modular carpet tile it adds comfort and sound absorption while allowing individual tiles to be replaced if soiled.

Specifier Tips

Use Tidewater in Dunes or Pingo in a lobby and change to Basin in the same color name for a narrower-plank border, or to Arid in adjoining offices, so the wave theme continues while the pattern shifts. Glacier and Archipelago make a cool, coastal pairing; Mesa and Miombo bring warmth to hospitality or desert-region projects. Run the planks parallel to the longest wall so the striations follow the room.
