Shaw Basanite Legacy 8x8 Slip-Resistant Travertine-Look Porcelain Tile

Basanite Legacy 515TS by Shaw is an 8x8 (7.87" square) slip-resistant glazed porcelain tile in a matte travertine and limestone look, manufactured in Italy. It is the smallest slip-resistant square in the family and combines two traction helpers in one: a slip-resistant surface and a tight grid of grout joints. That makes it the go-to Basanite Legacy choice for outdoor showers, spa surrounds, and wet exterior steps, where a larger tile is harder to slope toward a drain.

Best for: Outdoor showers, spa and hot-tub surrounds, exterior steps, pool entries, and interior shower floors.

Colors

• Ivory 00100: a light cream stone square that keeps an outdoor shower feeling fresh.
• Grey 00500: a stone gray that blends with poured concrete and gray decking around a spa.
• Walnut 00600: a warm brown that hides mud and leaves on exterior steps.

Why Choose Basanite Legacy Slip-Resistant 8x8

• Slip-resistant surface plus small-tile grout joints for added grip
• Easy to slope toward drains in showers and spa areas
• Frost resistant for year-round outdoor installs
• Water absorption of 0.50% or less
• Break strength of 500 lbf minimum
• Wet DCOF of 0.42 or above

Where to Install

Approved for floors and walls both indoors and outdoors, the 515TS is at its best in wet places: outdoor showers, spa decks, exterior steps and landings, pool entries, and interior shower floors. Install over a properly sloped, waterproofed or exterior-rated substrate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Basanite Legacy 515TS good for an outdoor shower? Yes. Shaw Basanite Legacy Slip-Resistant 8x8 is frost resistant, impervious, and small enough to follow the slope to a drain, which makes it a strong outdoor shower floor tile.

Can I use matching tile on the patio and in the shower? Yes. Use Shaw Basanite Legacy 515TS on the shower floor and the slip-resistant 16x16 (508TS) on the surrounding patio; both share the Ivory, Grey, and Walnut colors and a 0.394" thickness.

Is Basanite Legacy 8x8 slip-resistant tile good for exterior steps? Shaw Basanite Legacy 515TS works on exterior steps and landings because it is frost resistant and slip-resistant, and its 7.87" size fits narrow treads with fewer awkward cuts. One box covers 11.19 sq ft.

How is Basanite Legacy 515TS different from 514TS? Shaw Basanite Legacy 515TS is the slip-resistant 8x8 aimed at wet and outdoor floors, while the 514TS is the standard matte 8x8 for indoor kitchens, baths, and walls.

Design Pairing Guide

Ivory goes with teak benches, white cedar shingles, and a light sand grout in an outdoor shower. Grey suits a spa deck with charcoal planters, stainless fixtures, and a slate-gray grout. Walnut pairs with natural stone walls, bronze shower hardware, and a deep brown grout.
