Frequently Asked Questions

Is Sequoia real hardwood? Yes. It's engineered hardwood: a real hickory surface, 1.2 mm thick, over a stable layered core, 3/8" thick overall.

Is it waterproof? No. Shaw's Repel finish makes it water-resistant, which helps with everyday spills if you wipe them up promptly. It isn't waterproof, so avoid full bathrooms and standing water.

Can it go in a basement or over concrete? Yes. It's approved above, on or below grade, and can be glued down or floated over a properly prepared slab.

Does it work with radiant heat? Yes, Shaw lists it as approved for radiant heat.

How many cartons do I need? Each carton covers 30.48 sq ft. Multiply your room's square footage by 1.08 to add 8% overage, then divide by 30.48 and round up. For example, a 500 sq ft room needs 18 cartons.

Can I see Woodlake before I order? Yes. Order up to 3 free samples, or call 1-888-976-8166 for help choosing a color.
