Shaw Eventide 6x6 Gloss Handmade-Look Ceramic Wall Tile

Shaw Eventide 6x6 Gloss (style 434TS) is a glazed ceramic wall tile in a nominal 6" x 6" square, finished with a high-gloss glaze that shows soft, cloudy, handmade-style variation. Its Random (V4) shade rating is the most varied level Shaw assigns, so even a single color shows a lively range of tones across the wall. With nine colors running from crisp Alba white to deep Tempest navy and Eclipse black, Eventide covers quiet neutrals and bold statement shades in one series. The 6x6 size fills a backsplash faster than smaller squares and leaves fewer grout joints.

Best for: Kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower walls, laundry rooms, mudroom wainscoting and fireplace surrounds.

Colors

  • Alba 00100: a clean glossy white with light cloudiness, a classic base for any kitchen.
  • Callisto 00125: a warm blush-beige that adds a gentle rosy glow without reading as pink.
  • Sublime 00150: a sandy neutral that sits well with wood cabinetry and natural stone counters.
  • Mesmeric 00300: a pale mint, fresh and airy for bathrooms and laundry rooms.
  • Awaken 00400: a soft aqua-sage that blends green and blue for a calming wall.
  • Tempest 00450: a deep navy whose glaze pools into darker and lighter blues across each square.
  • Eminent 00500: a warm gray with taupe undertones, a flexible neutral that hides water spots.
  • Kindle 00600: a terracotta-peach that brings earthy warmth to a cooking area.
  • Eclipse 00900: glossy black for high-contrast backsplashes and moody powder rooms.

Why Choose Eventide 6x6

  • 5.94" x 5.94" square covers wall area quickly with fewer joints than a 4x4
  • Gloss glaze reflects light and wipes clean easily
  • Random (V4) shade variation for an authentic hand-glazed character
  • Nine colors spanning white and sand through navy and black
  • Break strength of at least 125 lbf
  • Produced in the United States

Where to Install

Eventide is a Shaw wall tile, so use it on vertical surfaces: backsplashes, bathroom and shower walls, tub surrounds, laundry and mudroom walls, and fireplace surrounds. It is not rated for floor use, and since Shaw gives it no frost rating it should stay indoors. Its semi-vitreous ceramic body is lighter than porcelain and cuts cleanly, which helps around outlets and window returns. Set shower installations over a waterproof backer board and membrane.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Shaw Eventide 6x6 tile good for a kitchen backsplash? Yes. Shaw Eventide 6x6 Gloss is a wall tile with a glossy glaze that shrugs off splashes and wipes clean, and its 6-inch square fits a standard 18-inch backsplash in roughly three courses.

Can Eventide be used on a bathroom floor? No. Shaw classifies Eventide 6x6 Gloss as wall tile, so it belongs on bathroom and shower walls; pair it with a floor-rated tile for anything underfoot.

Why do my Eventide tiles look different from each other? Eventide 6x6 is rated Random (V4), Shaw's highest shade variation level, so differences in tone and cloudiness between pieces are intentional. Mix tiles from several open boxes while setting to spread the variation evenly.

What grout works with glossy Eventide tile? For Shaw Eventide in Alba, Mesmeric or Callisto, a bright or warm white grout gives a soft, blended look. For Tempest, Eclipse or Kindle, a white grout outlines the grid, while a matching dark grout keeps the wall more uniform.

How does Eventide 6x6 compare to Sunset Glow 4x4? Both are glossy, handmade-look Shaw ceramic squares, but Eventide 6x6 is larger, comes in nine colors and is made in the United States, while the Sunset Glow 4x4 is a smaller Spanish-made square in six Mediterranean shades. Choose Eventide for fewer grout lines and Sunset Glow for a tighter grid.

Design Pairing Guide

Alba suits nearly anything, from white shaker cabinets with chrome to rift oak and black faucets. Callisto and Sublime look natural with walnut, warm brass and creamy plaster walls. Mesmeric and Awaken pair with white vanities, light oak and brushed nickel for a spa-like bath. Tempest stands out behind white or pale gray cabinets with polished brass knobs and white grout. Eminent balances greige walls and stainless appliances. Kindle warms a kitchen with cream cabinets and copper accents, and Eclipse looks crisp with white quartz and matte gold or black hardware.
