Shaw Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss White Ceramic Subway Tile

Shaw Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss (Shaw style 408TS) is a white glazed ceramic subway tile in the classic nominal 3" x 6" size, measuring 2.95" x 5.91", with a raised beveled edge and a glossy finish. The bevel creates small highlights and shadows along every edge, giving the traditional Metro or Paris subway look that a flat tile cannot. In the Grandeur line it is the most traditional option, compared with the flat matte 3x6 and the longer beveled 4x12. Low (V1) shade variation keeps the white even. Shaw lists a break strength of at least 230 lbf, and the tile is designed for indoor walls.

Best for: Traditional kitchen backsplashes, interior shower walls, vintage-style bathrooms, butler's pantries, and laundry rooms.

Where to Install

Use Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss inside the home on backsplashes, shower and tub walls, niches, pantries and laundry rooms. It is not rated frost resistant, absorbs more than 0.50% water, and is not made for floors. Beveled tile needs careful edge finishing; plan for a trim piece or a finished edge where the tile stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is beveled subway tile? Beveled subway tile has edges that slope down from the face, giving each piece a raised, pillow-like profile. Shaw Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss uses this edge for the classic Metro look seen in vintage kitchens and Paris metro stations.

Is beveled tile harder to install than flat tile? Slightly. With Shaw Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss, cuts expose the flat body of the tile, so plan layouts to put cut edges in corners or under trim, and finish outside edges with a trim piece.

Can Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss go in a shower? Yes, on interior shower walls. Set Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss over a waterproofed backer, and choose a floor-rated mosaic for the shower pan.

Should I choose the 3x6 or 4x12 Grandeur beveled tile? Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss gives a busier, more traditional pattern with more bevels per square foot, while Grandeur 4x12 Beveled Gloss is longer and reads more modern with fewer joints.

What grout is best for beveled white subway tile? A white grout keeps Shaw Grandeur 3x6 Beveled Gloss looking soft and classic, while a gray or charcoal grout outlines each beveled tile for a bold, traditional Metro look.
