Shaw Heirloom 7x22 Textured Wood-Look Ceramic Tile

Shaw Heirloom (style CS38Z) is a nominal 7" x 22" glazed ceramic floor tile with a textured, weathered wood-plank look, sold in two shades that run from whitewashed to rustic barnwood. Its high (V3) shade variation means plank faces change noticeably from piece to piece, so a finished floor reads like boards gathered from different old buildings rather than one repeated print. The textured surface adds a hand-worn feel underfoot, and a break strength rating of at least 551 lbf gives this plank solid footing for busy household floors.

Best for: Farmhouse kitchens, mudrooms, laundry rooms, bathroom floors, cabin-style living areas and wood-plank shower walls.

Colors

  • Fine China 00150: a whitewashed plank in pale gray-white, the softer and brighter of the two, suited to airy cottage rooms.
  • Hope Chest 00750: a multi-tone gray-brown barnwood with a weathered, rustic cast that disguises tracked-in dirt.

Why Choose Heirloom 7x22

  • Break strength rated at 551 lbf or more for daily foot traffic
  • Textured wood surface that looks and feels aged rather than flat-printed
  • High (V3) shade variation for a reclaimed, mixed-board appearance
  • Wet DCOF of 0.42 or higher on a textured face
  • Mohs glaze hardness of 6 for resistance to everyday scuffs
  • 18.19 sq ft per box in a manageable plank that is easy to handle and cut

Where to Install

Heirloom is a Floor-rated ceramic, so it can go on interior floors and walls alike: kitchens, entries, powder rooms, full baths, laundry rooms and finished basements. Shaw lists no frost rating for this tile, so keep it indoors and away from unheated porches or patios. On walls, the shorter plank is a good fit for shower surrounds, wainscoting and fireplace faces, and glazed ceramic cuts more easily than denser tile bodies, which helps when working around niches and outlets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Shaw Heirloom tile look like reclaimed wood? Yes. Shaw Heirloom is printed and textured to resemble weathered planks, and its high (V3) shade variation lets Fine China and Hope Chest boards differ from one piece to the next, much like salvaged barnwood.

Can Heirloom ceramic tile be used outside? No. Shaw Heirloom has no frost rating in its specs, so it is intended for interior floors and walls only, not for exposed patios or porches.

How should I lay out 7x22 wood-look planks? For Shaw Heirloom 7x22, a random stagger with end joints offset by roughly a third of the plank length looks most like a real board floor. Mixing planks from several boxes as you go spreads the shade variation evenly.

What grout color works with Hope Chest wood-look tile? A mid gray or warm gray-brown grout in a narrow joint blends into Shaw Heirloom Hope Chest so the planks read as continuous wood, while Fine China looks best with a light gray or off-white grout.

How much Heirloom tile should I order? Each box of Shaw Heirloom covers 18.19 sq ft. Add 10 to 15 percent overage for cuts and shade blending, and note that our minimum order is 250 sq. ft.

Design Pairing Guide

Fine China suits white or pale sage cabinets, brushed nickel fixtures, soft white walls and a light gray grout for a breezy cottage kitchen. Hope Chest pairs well with cream shiplap, oil-rubbed bronze or black iron hardware, warm greige paint and a taupe grout, and it holds its own beside chunky leather and rough linen in a lodge-style den.
