Shaw Kaleidoscope 6x7 Glossy Hexagon Porcelain Tile

Shaw Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 (style 574TS) is a glossy glazed porcelain hexagon measuring 6.22" x 7.2", with the irregular color of a handmade tile. The six-sided shape is the most decorative format in the family: hexagons form a honeycomb on their own and can be arranged in two or more colors for florets, ombre fades or a scattered mix. Random (V4) shade variation gives every hex its own tone, the gloss surface catches light, and the nine colors are shared with the Kaleidoscope brick and flat square. Like the rest of the collection, it is Italian-made and frost resistant.

Best for: Bathroom feature walls, shower accent walls, kitchen backsplashes, coffee-bar walls, laundry rooms and powder rooms.

Colors

• Pearl 00100: a glossy off-white that turns a honeycomb wall into soft texture.
• Lemon 00200: soft yellow hexes that read cheerful in a breakfast nook or laundry room.
• Verdant 00300: deep green hexagons with a jewel-box intensity for powder rooms.
• Sage 00310: a muted gray-green that blends easily into an ombre with Pearl.
• Indigo 00400: bold blue hex for a nautical or globally inspired bath.
• Powder Blue 00410: a pale, sky-like blue that keeps a shower wall light and fresh.
• Ashen 00500: a quiet ash gray that lets the hex shape do the talking.
• Marigold 00600: a warm golden-orange marigold that adds energy in small doses.
• Obsidian 00900: high-gloss black hexagons for a moody, graphic feature.

Where to Install

Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 is an accent tile. Use it for feature walls, shower accent walls, backsplashes, niches and decorative inlays rather than as a general field tile. The frost-resistant rating allows outdoor accent uses such as a patio bar wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an ombre effect with Kaleidoscope Hex? Choose two or three Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 colors such as Pearl, Sage and Verdant, lay solid bands at each end and scatter the tiles gradually through the middle; dry-lay the pattern before setting.

Is the Kaleidoscope Hex tile hard to install? Hexagons take more cutting at edges than squares, so Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 is a bit slower to install; order about 15% overage and use a wet saw for clean cuts at corners.

What size is Kaleidoscope Hex exactly? Each Shaw Kaleidoscope Hex measures 6.22" x 7.2" (nominal 6" x 7"), and one box covers 5.6 sq ft.

How does the Kaleidoscope Hex compare with the Kaleidoscope Brick? Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 makes a honeycomb or floret pattern, whereas the Kaleidoscope Brick 4x8 reads more linear and traditional. Because the nine glossy colors are shared, you can use the brick on a backsplash and the hex on an adjoining wall.

Can Kaleidoscope Hex go on a bathroom floor? Shaw classifies Kaleidoscope Hex 6x7 as an accent tile, so it is best used on walls, backsplashes and decorative accents; for a full bathroom floor, choose a floor-rated tile.

Design Pairing Guide

Pearl hexes suit white oak vanities and brushed brass, and Lemon brightens a laundry room with white cabinets and natural jute. Verdant makes a dramatic powder room with gold mirrors and dark walnut; Sage fades into Pearl beside linen and light oak. Indigo works with white fixtures and rattan, Powder Blue with chrome and soft white towels. Ashen sits well with concrete-look counters and black taps, Marigold with terracotta pots and cream grout, and Obsidian with white grout for a graphic honeycomb.
