Shaw Moonstruck 9x47 Wide-Plank Wood-Look Porcelain Tile

Shaw Moonstruck 9x47 (style 523TS) is a 9.06" x 47.24" glazed porcelain plank that delivers a wide-plank wood look in five shades, from whitewashed Serenity to dark brown Escape. Nearly 4 feet long and over 9" wide, it is the larger of the two Moonstruck formats, laying down fewer end joints and grout lines than the 6x36 for the expansive feel of European wide-plank flooring. It is 0.382" thick with a break strength of 367 lbf or more, and its impervious porcelain body, moderate (V2) shade variation and frost-resistant rating make it suitable well beyond the living room.

Best for: Open-concept living rooms, great rooms, kitchens, primary bedrooms, large bathrooms and covered patios.

• Essence 00700: warm mid-brown boards that read like classic hardwood flooring.
• Escape 00750: a deep dark brown for a dramatic, high-contrast wide plank.

Where to Install

Moonstruck 9x47 is a floor tile for floors and walls. Use it in open living areas, kitchens, bedrooms and large bathrooms, as a wood-look feature wall, and outdoors on patios in freezing regions thanks to its frost resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Moonstruck 9x47 hard to install? Long planks like Moonstruck 9x47 need a very flat floor, large-format mortar and a leveling system, and offsets should stay at 33% or less; an experienced installer is recommended.

How much floor does a box of Moonstruck 9x47 cover? One box of Shaw Moonstruck 9x47 covers 11.63 sq ft; budget an extra 10-15% for cuts, and keep in mind the 250 sq. ft. minimum order.

Does Moonstruck 9x47 look like real hardwood? Moonstruck 9x47 is a glazed porcelain wood-look tile; its 47" length and moderate (V2) shade variation let each plank vary like individual boards, while the porcelain body shrugs off water.

Moonstruck 9x47 vs 6x36: which is better for a large room? Moonstruck 9x47 is the better fit for large open rooms because its wider, longer planks mean fewer seams, while the Moonstruck 6x36 suits hallways, bedrooms and herringbone patterns.

Can I use Moonstruck 9x47 on a patio? Yes. Moonstruck 9x47 is frost resistant, so it can continue from a living room onto a patio in cold climates when installed over a properly prepared exterior substrate.
