Shaw Natural Strata 24x24 Vein-Cut Limestone-Look Porcelain Tile

Natural Strata VC 24x24 is Shaw's style 592TS: a 23.62" x 23.62" (nominal 24" x 24") glazed porcelain tile that pairs a limestone look, cut along the vein, with a lightly textured finish. The square format changes how the linear pattern behaves, since tiles can all run the same direction for a calm, striated floor or be turned a quarter turn in alternating squares for a subtle basket-weave effect. Fewer grout lines than the 12x24 suit open living areas, and the frost rating lets the same tile step out onto a patio.

Best for: Open living areas, kitchens, sunrooms, entries, basements and outdoor patios.

Colors

• Ivory 00100: soft ivory squares that make a large floor feel light and open.
• Cream 00120: a warm cream stone with a calm, sun-faded character.
• Grey 00500: neutral gray squares that read architectural and modern.

Why Choose Natural Strata 24x24

• Square 24x24 format that allows directional or alternating layouts
• Lightly textured surface, wet DCOF of 0.42 or higher
• Frost resistant for exterior patios
• Break strength of 250 lbf or more at 0.374" thick
• Porcelain body that absorbs 0.50% water or less
• Italian-made, 11.63 sq ft per box

Where to Install

Natural Strata VC 24x24 is rated for floors and walls and is frost resistant, so it can be used in kitchens, family rooms, entries and basements as well as on exterior patios and porches. Large squares need a flat substrate and full mortar coverage, and a leveling system helps with corner alignment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should vein-cut tile all face the same direction? For a classic look, lay Shaw Natural Strata VC 24x24 with the vein lines all running one way, parallel to the main sightline. Rotating alternate tiles 90 degrees creates a checkerboard-like texture that works well in large rooms.

Is Natural Strata 24x24 good for a patio? Yes. Shaw Natural Strata VC 24x24 is frost resistant and has a lightly textured surface, making it a solid choice for exterior patios in cold climates when installed over a proper base.

How does Natural Strata 24x24 compare with the 12x24? Shaw Natural Strata VC 24x24 (592TS) covers open floors with fewer grout lines, while the Natural Strata VC 12x24 (591TS) fits smaller bathrooms and can be laid in offset patterns. Both come in Ivory, Cream and Grey.

Does limestone-look porcelain stain like real limestone? No. Shaw Natural Strata VC 24x24 is glazed porcelain with water absorption of 0.50% or less, so it resists the staining and etching that affect natural limestone and needs no sealing.

How many boxes of Natural Strata 24x24 for 400 sq ft? A box of Shaw Natural Strata VC 24x24 covers 11.63 sq ft, so a 400 sq ft open plan needs about 35 boxes before overage and 38 to 40 boxes with 10-15% added.
