Tesoro Woods Solid Bamboo – Caramel Antiqued 5-5/8"

Caramel Antiqued takes the rich carbonized brown of Caramel and adds a handscraped surface for a rustic, time-worn look, on long 6-foot tongue-and-groove planks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does handscraped mean? The surface is scraped to create gentle dips and texture, like a reclaimed floor. The texture also helps hide scratches and everyday wear.

What does carbonized mean? Carbonizing heats the bamboo fibers under pressure, which caramelizes their natural sugars and turns them brown. The color goes through the fiber rather than sitting on the surface like a stain.

Is solid strand bamboo harder than oak? Yes. Strand-woven bamboo is compressed under high pressure, and Tesoro rates it at over 3,000 on the Janka scale. Red oak is about 1,290.

How is it different from Caramel Wide? Same carbonized color. Caramel Wide is smooth; Caramel Antiqued is handscraped.

Solid Strand Bamboo, Built to Last

Strand-woven bamboo is made by shredding bamboo stalks into fibers and pressing them into dense blocks, which makes it far harder than most hardwoods. Tesoro mills the solid strand blocks into long 6-foot planks with tongue-and-groove joints and micro-beveled edges, then protects the handscraped surface with a UV-cured acrylic urethane finish.

Healthy, Rapidly Renewable Flooring

Bamboo is a grass that regrows in a few years, making it one of the most renewable flooring materials available. Tesoro Solid Bamboo is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality, has no added urea formaldehyde and no VOCs, and is Lacey Act compliant.

Design Pairing Guide — Caramel Antiqued

Caramel Antiqued suits rustic, lodge, and farmhouse rooms. Pair it with warm white or sage walls, leather, wrought iron, and woven or plaid textiles.

Ideal Applications

Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways, home offices, and kitchens. Wipe up spills promptly. Not recommended for full bathrooms, laundry rooms with standing water, or other wet areas.

Why Choose Caramel Antiqued?

For a warm, rustic floor whose texture hides daily wear, Caramel Antiqued is the most relaxed, lived-in color in the Tesoro Solid Bamboo line.
