Wicanders Cork GO Whim is a floating cork floor with a light, airy natural cork visual and a seamless, low-texture surface, made for calm everyday rooms. It clicks together over most flat subfloors and brings the warmth and quiet of real cork to bedrooms, offices and kitchens. Each piece measures 35 5/8" x 11 5/8" and is 3/8" thick.

The Look

Whim is the easygoing member of the Cork GO family. Its cork visual is light and airy, and the low-texture finish keeps the surface reading as one seamless field rather than a busy pattern. As with any natural cork surface, you will see gentle tonal variation from piece to piece, so the floor looks organic instead of printed. Installation

Whim installs as a glueless floating floor using the Floating 2G click system. Wicanders' general guidance is to let the unopened cartons acclimate for at least 48 hours in a dry, ventilated room and to install over a subfloor that is flat to within 3 mm over 2 m. Concrete, plywood and sound existing hard floors all work as a base.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cork GO Whim waterproof? No. Whim is moisture-resistant, not waterproof. It handles kitchens and normal bathroom use, but spills and standing water should be wiped up right away, and it should not go in persistently wet rooms.

Will Whim help a small bedroom feel more open? A light, low-texture floor tends to keep a room feeling open, and Whim's seamless look avoids the visual clutter of strong grain. Pale walls and light cabinetry push the effect further.

Do I need a pad under Whim? No separate pad is needed because a 0.8 mm cork underlay is already attached to the back of every piece. Wicanders' general instructions for floating floors do call for a PE moisture barrier film of at least 0.2 mm underneath.

How many cartons of Whim do I need for a 200 sq ft room? Add 8% overage to get 216 sq ft, then divide by 22.99 sq ft per carton. That comes to about 9.4, so order 10 cartons.
