Philadelphia Commercial Stack 24x24 Layered Linear Commercial Carpet Tile

Philadelphia Commercial Stack (style #54920) is a 24" x 24" commercial carpet tile with a layered, linear pattern, built from 100% Pivotal® PET fiber with a performance backing and manufactured in the USA. Stack is the companion style to Sort: the two share six color names, so Stack's stronger linear graphic can define corridors or zones while Sort covers the main field. Colors are earthy and muted, from a sage-gray and warm khaki to a moss-charcoal, an olive-brown and a deep green-black. Shaw publishes a sustainability document for Stack, linked in the specs.

Best for: School corridors and classrooms, offices, libraries, coworking spaces and municipal buildings that want a linear accent without strong color contrast.

Colors

  • Twist 00210: warm khaki-olive gray with a natural, woven feel.
  • Bunch 00400: very dark gray-green, almost black.
  • Pleat 00500: muted sage-stone, the lightest gray-green.
  • Bind 00510: moss-toned charcoal.
  • Fold 00700: light warm khaki, sunny for a dark palette.
  • Wrap 00706: deep olive-umber.

Stack and Sort use the same six color names, so any color can carry across both patterns. Get free samples of both to see how the linear graphic compares.

Why Choose Stack 24x24

  • Layered, linear pattern that adds direction to a 24x24 tile
  • Companion to Sort with matching color names
  • Pivotal® PET fiber (100%) with performance backing
  • Ashlar, Brick, Monolithic, Quarter Turn or Random layouts
  • USA-made, with a published sustainability document

Installation Methods

Five layouts are approved for Stack: Monolithic, Quarter Turn, Random, Brick and Ashlar. Because Stack has a linear graphic, Monolithic is the way to show continuous parallel lines, which works well along corridors. Quarter Turn alternates the lines into a basket-like grid, and Random scatters them for a more textural, less directional look. Brick and Ashlar keep the lines running one way while offsetting the seams. Check the spec sheet before choosing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Stack different from Sort? Stack and Sort share fiber, size and six color names. Stack has a layered, linear pattern, while Sort has a textured, layered look with softer movement.

What does Quarter Turn do to the Stack pattern? In a Quarter Turn layout, every other Stack tile is rotated 90 degrees, so its linear graphic alternates direction and forms a basket-like grid instead of continuous parallel lines.

Is Stack good for school corridors? Stack works well in school corridors because a Monolithic install lines its linear pattern up with the direction of travel, and its dark colors like Bunch and Bind hide soil from heavy student traffic.

What is Stack carpet tile made of? The Stack face is all Pivotal PET fiber, the backing is a performance backing, and Philadelphia Commercial manufactures it in the United States.

Does Stack have sustainability information? Yes. Shaw provides a sustainability document for Stack, linked in the specs on this page, for projects that need environmental product details.

Specifier Tips

Lay Stack Monolithic in Bind down hallways and switch to Sort in Bind inside classrooms or offices; the color stays constant while the pattern signals the change from circulation to room. Fold and Pleat lighten up spaces with little daylight. Turn Stack 90 degrees relative to the corridor at doorways to create a simple threshold marker.
