Shaw Expressions Oak Alla Prima 7.5" Engineered Hardwood

Alla Prima is a medium greige-tan white oak with lively plank-to-plank variation. It is part of Shaw Expressions, a 7.5" wide-plank engineered white oak from Shaw's Gallery collection, with a 4 mm white oak veneer, a wirebrushed surface and a low 7% gloss UV aluminum oxide finish that lets the grain show.

Is Expressions real hardwood? Yes. It's engineered hardwood: a real white oak surface, 4 mm thick, over a stable layered core, 5/8" thick overall.

Is it waterproof? No. Like all real hardwood it isn't waterproof, so wipe up spills promptly and avoid full bathrooms and other wet areas.

Can it go in a basement or over concrete? Yes. It's approved above, on or below grade, and can be glued down or floated over a properly prepared slab.

Does it work with radiant heat? Yes, Shaw lists it as approved for radiant heat.

How many cartons do I need? Each carton covers 23.31 sq ft. Multiply your room's square footage by 1.08 to add 8% overage, then divide by 23.31 and round up. For example, a 500 sq ft room needs 24 cartons.
