Shaw Pathways 6 7x48 Value Wood Look Commercial Luxury Vinyl Plank

Shaw Pathways 6 (style #3550V) is the entry-level commercial luxury vinyl plank in Shaw's Pathways line: a 7" x 48" glue-down wood look whose 6 mil wear layer suits lighter traffic and tight budgets. Each 2 mm plank has square edges and a ScufResist® surface, and the same twelve colors offered in the heavier Pathways 12 are available here. Because Shaw approves it for direct glue on grade, above grade or below grade, Pathways 6 can go into basement rooms as well as upper floors. Warranty coverage is 7 years commercial and 15 years residential (limited), and production is in South Korea.

Best for: Budget rental units, light-traffic offices, storage and back-of-house rooms, basement rooms and residential-style spaces in commercial buildings.

Why Choose Shaw Pathways 6

• Value-driven entry point to the Pathways look for lighter traffic
• ScufResist® surface over a 6 mil wear layer
• Glue-down use permitted in basements, on slabs and on upper floors
• Limited warranty: 7 years commercial, 15 years residential
• Twelve colors that match Pathways 12 one for one

Installation Methods

Pathways 6 is a glue-down product, and Shaw permits it at every grade level, from basement slabs to upper-story subfloors. Because the plank is only 2 mm, bumps, trowel ridges and cracks in the substrate can telegraph through, so patch and skim-coat first. Square edges butt tightly for a flat, clean surface without beveled grooves. Below-grade concrete in particular should pass Shaw's moisture limits before the adhesive is spread.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose Shaw Pathways 6 or Pathways 12? Pick Shaw Pathways 6 for bedrooms, closets and other lighter-use rooms where budget matters most; its wear layer is 6 mil. Shaw Pathways 12 doubles that to 12 mil for kitchens, entries and light commercial traffic, with identical colors and plank size.

Is Pathways 6 good for rental properties? Yes. Shaw positions Pathways 6 as a value-driven glue-down plank for rental properties, and its ScufResist surface helps it tolerate move-ins and move-outs in lighter-traffic rooms.

What is the warranty on Shaw Pathways 6? Shaw backs Pathways 6 with limited coverage of 7 years in commercial settings and 15 years in residential use.

Can Pathways 6 go in a basement? Yes. Below-grade installation is permitted for Shaw Pathways 6 as long as the slab meets Shaw's moisture requirements and the plank is glued down.

Specifier Tips

Use Pathways 6 in bedrooms, closets and lower-traffic rooms of rental units, and Pathways 12 in the same color for kitchens, entries and hallways. Lighter colors like Canyon and Dawn help small units feel larger, while Dusk hides dirt in busier spots. Add furniture pads to protect the 6 mil wear layer.
