Philadelphia Commercial Multiplicity 18x36 Patterned Plank Commercial Carpet Tile

Philadelphia Commercial Multiplicity 18x36 (style #54815) is the rectangular plank version of the Multiplicity commercial carpet tile system, offered in 18 colors that range from soft greige to olive, teal-blue, terracotta and oxblood. Its fiber is 100% Solution Q nylon, its base is a performance backing, and it is manufactured in America. The plank gives designers seven approved layouts, including herringbone and basketweave. Because the same 18 colors are sold in the Multiplicity 24x24 square, a project can mix planks and squares in one palette, for example planks in corridors and squares in open offices.

Best for: K-12 schools, higher education buildings, open-plan offices, libraries, healthcare administration areas and public buildings that need zoning color.

Colors

• Plethora 00105: warm mid greige with a sandy cast, an easy base color.
• Abundance 00200: tan-brown taupe slightly deeper than Plethora.
• Expansive 00210: a golden camel tone, the brightest of the warm neutrals.
• Heap 00300: khaki-olive gray, earthy and low contrast.
• Exuberant 00310: mossy olive-gold for a nature-inspired accent.
• Profuse 00315: a forest green, the strongest green in the line.
• Overflow 00400: gray with a blue-green, sea-glass undertone.
• Plentiful 00410: dark slate-green gray that reads nearly neutral.
• Prosperity 00415: deep teal blue for wayfinding bands and accent rooms.
• Batch 00500: light warm stone gray, airy in daylit spaces.
• Cluster 00505: mid taupe-gray, a step darker than Batch.
• Out Pouring 00510: charcoal-olive neutral suited to busy hallways.
• Surplus 00520: a smoky mid-dark gray that pairs with most finishes.
• Mass 00610: bright terracotta orange, the boldest warm accent.
• Oodles 00700: soft brown taupe in the middle value range.
• Exuberance 00705: medium chestnut tan, warmer than Oodles.
• Volume 00710: deep brown-gray for entries and service counters.
• Fortune 00810: oxblood red, a rich accent for collaboration zones.

The palette pairs about a dozen neutrals with greens, a blue, an orange and a red, a mix that suits color-coding floors or departments. Ask for free samples of the accent shades before finalizing a zoning plan.

Installation Methods

Multiplicity 18x36 is approved for Herringbone, Ashlar, Monolithic, Brick, Basketweave, Half Basketweave and Boxed In installation. Ashlar and Brick shift each plank row for a clean linear floor that works in long corridors and classrooms. Herringbone sets planks in a zigzag for a lobby or library feature, while Basketweave and Half Basketweave pair planks into a woven grid. Boxed In frames a square pattern of planks, and Monolithic keeps every tile aligned for the quietest field. Note that Stagger is not on the approved list for this style. See the installation guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Multiplicity 18x36 and Multiplicity 24x24 be used together? Yes. Multiplicity 18x36 and Multiplicity 24x24 share the same 18 colors, so planks and squares can be combined in one project, for example planks in corridors and squares in open areas.

Is Multiplicity carpet tile a good choice for schools? Multiplicity suits schools because its 18 colors include accent greens, teal, orange and red for color-coding wings or classrooms, and individual 18x36 planks can be replaced when damaged.

What fiber is Multiplicity 18x36? The Multiplicity plank uses 100% Solution Q nylon fiber over a performance backing and is produced in the USA.

How many layouts can Multiplicity 18x36 be installed in? Philadelphia Commercial approves seven methods for Multiplicity 18x36: Ashlar, Basketweave, Boxed In, Brick, Half Basketweave, Herringbone and Monolithic.

Which Multiplicity colors are best for wayfinding? Strong shades such as Prosperity (teal blue), Mass (terracotta), Fortune (oxblood) and Profuse (forest green) stand out against Multiplicity neutrals and work well as wayfinding bands or zone markers.

Specifier Tips

Map each wing or grade level of a school to one accent, such as Prosperity, Profuse or Mass, and use it in a herringbone band at classroom entries while Surplus or Cluster runs ashlar in the corridors. In offices, keep Batch or Plethora in workstations and mark collaboration zones with Fortune. Switching to 24x24 Multiplicity in the same color inside large rooms reduces cutting waste.
