Philadelphia Commercial Multiplicity 24x24 Patterned Square Commercial Carpet Tile

Philadelphia Commercial Multiplicity 24x24, style 54594, is a square-format commercial carpet tile from a flexible design system that also comes as an 18x36 plank, giving one 18-color palette two shapes. Its broad color range moves from warm taupes and camel through olive, forest green and inky blue to terracotta and a deep red, so the style can build either a calm unified field or a lively, color-blocked custom layout. Multiplicity squares carry a performance backing and are produced in the USA. The square suits quarter-turn and random installation, which the plank version does not offer.

Best for: Classrooms and media centers, open offices, community centers, government buildings, dormitory lounges and training rooms.

In the 24x24 photography most colors read a little deeper than in the plank, so request free samples of the exact squares you plan to install.

Installation Methods

For Multiplicity 24x24 the approved methods are Monolithic, Brick, Random, Ashlar and Quarter Turn. Monolithic gives the most uniform field and is the usual choice when several colors are combined in blocks, because each block reads cleanly. Quarter Turn rotates neighboring squares to create a subtle checkerboard of light and shade. Random hides seams and makes replacement tiles blend in, which is useful in schools. Brick and Ashlar offset rows by half or a third of a tile. The installation guide covers adhesive and layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Multiplicity 24x24 and Multiplicity 18x36? They share one 18-color palette. Multiplicity 24x24 squares allow quarter turn and random layouts, while the Multiplicity 18x36 plank supports herringbone, basketweave and other linear patterns.

Can Multiplicity 24x24 be color-blocked? Yes. With 18 colors, including navy Prosperity, burgundy Fortune and rust Mass, Multiplicity 24x24 squares can be laid in blocks or stripes to create custom color-blocked floors.

Is Multiplicity 24x24 made in the USA? Philadelphia Commercial lists Multiplicity 24x24 as made in the USA.

Which installation hides replacement tiles best on Multiplicity 24x24? Random installation is the most forgiving for Multiplicity 24x24, because each tile is turned at random and a new tile does not stand out against the surrounding ones.

Specifier Tips

Create a school media center floor with a Surplus or Batch field and blocks of Exuberant, Prosperity and Mass to define reading, maker and presentation zones. In an office, use Plentiful or Volume at the entry, Oodles or Exuberance at workstations, and a Fortune square inset at the café. Order the plank version for adjoining corridors if you want a linear look in the same colors.
