Shaw Mirage 12x24 Matte Marble-Look Porcelain Tile

Shaw Mirage SA973 is a nominal 12x24 (11.81" x 23.62") porcelain tile with a matte glaze and a Pulpis marble and stone look, made in Turkey. Unlike the smooth-finish Mirage squares, this rectangle has a matte surface, which softens reflections and gives the marble pattern a honed, stone-like feel. It is also the only Mirage field tile offered in all three colors, Retreat, Haven, and Refuge, and the Mirage mosaic comes in the same three for accents.

Best for: Kitchen and living-room floors, bathroom floors and walls, shower walls, and hallways.

Colors

• Retreat 00120: a warm beige with a sandy, sunlit tone in a low-glare matte.
• Haven 00250: a greige that sits between beige and gray and suits most wood tones.
• Refuge 00550: a veined gray that gives the 12x24 a cooler, more contemporary look.

Why Choose Mirage 12x24

• Matte finish for a honed-stone look with low glare
• 12x24 rectangle for modern offset or stacked layouts
• Three colors plus a coordinating Mirage mosaic
• Impervious porcelain, 0.50% or less absorption
• Wet DCOF of 0.42+
• Frost resistant

Where to Install

Floors and walls, interior and exterior. Use it for kitchens, baths, shower walls, living areas, and frost-exposed patios. Because the tile is 23.62" long, limit any offset to 33% to reduce lippage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is matte or smooth Mirage better for a bathroom? Shaw Mirage 12x24 has a matte finish that shows fewer water spots and less glare than a smooth surface, and it carries the same 0.42+ wet DCOF listing as the smooth Mirage sizes.

What layout works for Mirage 12x24? Shaw Mirage 12x24 looks best in a 1/3 offset, a straight stack, or a vertical stack on walls; avoid a 50% offset on 24" tile because it increases lippage.

Which Mirage mosaic matches the 12x24? The Mirage mosaic (SA974) comes in Retreat, Haven, and Refuge, the same three colors as Shaw Mirage 12x24, for backsplashes, niches, and borders.

Is Mirage 12x24 frost resistant? Yes. Shaw lists Mirage 12x24 as frost resistant, so it can be installed on patios and porches in cold climates over a suitable exterior substrate.

Where is Shaw Mirage made? Shaw lists Turkey as the country of origin for Mirage 12x24 (SA973).

Design Pairing Guide

Retreat pairs with walnut or cherry cabinetry, oil-rubbed bronze, and a warm tan grout. Haven suits white oak, greige walls, and champagne bronze fixtures, grouted in taupe. Refuge looks sharp with white lacquer cabinets, matte black hardware, and a silver-gray grout.
