Shaw Revel 12x24 Matte Concrete-Look Porcelain Tile

Shaw Revel 12x24 (style 747TS) is a matte glazed porcelain tile measuring 11.69" x 23.5" (nominal 12" x 24") with a solid concrete-and-clay look, made in Italy in five colors. Revel's appeal is color: shades like Oliva and Avio give a floor or wall a muted, earthy hue instead of plain gray. The 12x24 is the most adaptable size in the family, light enough to handle on walls and easy to lay in a brick, stacked or one-third offset pattern on floors. It carries a glaze hardness rating of 6, and low (V1) shade variation keeps the color steady.

Best for: Kitchen and bathroom floors, shower walls, backsplashes, laundry rooms, entryways and accent walls.

Colors

• Panna 00100: a soft cream solid that warms up a white kitchen.
• Oliva 00300: deep olive-sage green with an earthy, Mediterranean feel.
• Avio 00400: slate blue that reads moody and grounded on a bathroom wall.
• Cenere 00500: warm ash gray-brown, a neutral that never feels cold.
• Nocciola 00700: hazelnut beige with a sun-baked clay warmth.

Where to Install

Revel 12x24 is a floor tile, so it works on floors and walls indoors: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, entries and shower walls. Shaw's data for this size does not list a frost rating, so plan it for interior projects; for a patio, look at the frost-resistant Revel Textured 24x48.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Shaw Revel 12x24 tile look like? Shaw Revel 12x24 has a solid, matte concrete-and-clay look with very little pattern, so the color does most of the work. It comes in Panna, Oliva, Avio, Cenere and Nocciola.

Is olive green tile a good choice for a kitchen floor? Revel 12x24 in Oliva is a deep olive-sage that pairs well with wood and brass, and on a floor it hides crumbs and dust better than white or cream. It is a matte glazed porcelain floor tile with a glaze hardness of 6.

What layout works for Revel 12x24 tile? Revel 12x24 can go in a stacked grid, a brick pattern or a one-third offset. Because the tiles are longer than 18", keep any offset at 33% or less to limit lippage.

Should I pick Revel 12x24 or Revel 24x24? Revel 12x24 is easier to handle on walls and suits smaller rooms, while Revel 24x24 gives a floor fewer grout lines and lists a frost-resistant rating. The five colors are the same.

Where is Shaw Revel 12x24 made? Shaw Revel 12x24 is made in Italy, according to Shaw's product specifications.

Design Pairing Guide

Panna sits nicely with walnut, cream linen and aged brass. Oliva pairs with natural oak, terracotta and warm white walls; Avio with white cabinetry, brushed nickel and light gray grout. Cenere suits charcoal hardware and greige paint, and Nocciola works with honey-toned wood, rattan and bronze fixtures. A grout one shade darker than the tile keeps the solid look intact.
