Shaw Prime Aura 12x24 Matte Marble-Look Porcelain Tile

Shaw Prime Aura Matte 12x24 (style 497TS) is a marble-look glazed porcelain tile measuring 11.81" x 23.62", nominal 12" x 24", with neutral marble tones, silvery gray veining and a matte finish. Of the six Prime Aura options, this is the most practical everyday format: the 12x24 rectangle is easy to handle on walls and in showers, and the matte surface keeps the marble style low-glare, with a Wet DCOF of 0.42 or higher. It is frost resistant, so the same look can carry out onto a patio.

Best for: bathroom floors and shower walls, kitchens, laundry rooms, entryways, and covered or open patios.

Colors

• Onyx Crystallo 00110: a soft gray-white with an onyx-like haze, toned down nicely by the matte surface.
• Carrara Abisso 00111: white with fine gray Carrara-style veins, a timeless choice for bathrooms.
• Statuario Brina 00150: a bright white with bolder gray veining for more visible marble movement.
• Perla Grigia 00500: a pearl gray that hides footprints and water spots better than the whites.

Why Choose Prime Aura Matte 12x24

• Matte finish gives a honed-marble look without glare
• Slip-conscious Wet DCOF rating of ≥ 0.42
• Frost resistant for exterior as well as interior installs
• 12x24 format is easy to handle on walls and floors
• Impervious glazed porcelain (≤ 0.50% water absorption) with no sealing required
• Moderate (V2) shade variation, so veining varies piece to piece

Where to Install

Prime Aura Matte 12x24 is a floor tile that also works on walls, so it can run from a bathroom floor up the shower walls, cover a kitchen or laundry floor, or line an entry. Shaw lists it as frost resistant, which opens up exterior patios and porches in cold climates when it is installed over a proper exterior substrate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is matte marble-look tile better for bathrooms than polished? For floors, usually yes. Shaw Prime Aura Matte 12x24 has a low-sheen surface and a Wet DCOF of 0.42 or higher, so it is a more practical marble look for bathroom floors and shower areas than a high-gloss finish.

What layout works for 12x24 marble-look tile? Prime Aura Matte 12x24 looks best in a straight stack, a brick pattern offset no more than 33%, or a herringbone. Limiting the offset to one third helps reduce lippage on rectangular tile.

Can Prime Aura Matte 12x24 be used outdoors? Yes. Shaw lists Prime Aura Matte 12x24 as frost resistant, so it can be installed on patios and porches when set over an exterior-rated substrate with outdoor setting materials.

Is the matte 12x24 the same as the polished 12x24 Prime Aura? They share the size and four colors, but the Prime Aura Polished 12x24 has a reflective finish suited to walls and dry floors, while the matte version is the better pick for wet areas and exterior use.

Do I need to seal Prime Aura marble-look porcelain? No. Prime Aura Matte 12x24 is glazed porcelain with water absorption of 0.50% or less, so unlike real marble it needs no sealing; only the grout should be sealed.

Design Pairing Guide

Carrara Abisso suits white or soft gray vanities, polished chrome and a light gray grout that echoes its veins. Statuario Brina stands up to black fixtures, navy cabinets and bright white grout. Onyx Crystallo works with warm brass, oak vanities and taupe walls, and Perla Grigia looks good beside charcoal cabinetry, brushed nickel and a mid-gray grout.
